1.LIVING WISDOM COURSE: UGANDA

With pleasure I present you the next Two-week Living Wisdom Course in Kampala, to be held from 16th- 27th March 2020 in the Makindye Country Club!
This is a Christian based counselling course, that is helps you get grounded deeper in Truth, discover what makes you respond the way you do, learn how you can change your behaviour and how you can help others do the same.

Trainer Joan Koskela (see picture) is coming over from Australia to teach this course. She is a warm, genuine and enthusiastic teacher, whose own life changed so much by the Living Wisdom Course that she decided to teach the material herself. Read the flyer to find out more, and click here for the application form.

For more information, please visit the website and find here the link to the list of topics covered in the course.

In Uganda the course is offered at a discounted fee of 550 USD (including 10 lunches). This course is very valuable, not only for yourself, but as well for the people around you in your family, circle of friends and organisation.

I am looking forward to your response! May God bless you,

2. MTO MOYONI PROGRAMMES: JINJA, UGANDA

Love the Lord your God with all of your heart and all of your soul and with all of your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself.
Matthew 22:37

If we are honest with ourselves, we know that all of us struggle with this commandment at certain times in our lives.
This may happen because there is wounding in our hearts and we started to believe lies.

Allow the light of God’s love, to expose the lies, so that the truth will set us free.  Father’s love is the only power which enables us to fulfil this commandment.

Come and discover what the blockages are that hinder us to receive this unconditional love.

3. ELLEL MINISTRIES (www.ellel.org.za)

Our Vision
Ellel Ministries is an international non-denominational Christian mission organisation with a vision to resource and equip the church by welcoming people, teaching them about the Kingdom of God and healing those in need.
The foundational scripture for the ministry is Luke 9:11 where Jesus welcomed the people, taught them about the Kingdom of God and healed those who were in need. These three elements make up the work of Ellel Ministries - welcoming people, teaching them about life in the Kingdom of God and ministering God's healing to their lives.
We have centres in many countries around the world, set aside for God’s people to rest, be restored and be equipped.

4. WORKING IN MULTIPLE-CULTURED TEAMS

Tight and Loose cultures

Randy and Jane Rhoades share the following:

For us in missions the concepts and writings about cultural dimensions has brought much insight or illustrations with which most of us could readily identify.  Many writings have contrasted differences that make various culture types distinct.

Most recently a profound distinction has come to the forefront that could make a great impact on our understanding of working in multiple-cultured teams. That is the “tight and loose cultures.”

A good series of blogs by Jackson Wu well summarizes the concept:

Part 1 – Tight versus Loose The cultural distinction missionaries aren’t talking about

https://www.patheos.com/blogs/jacksonwu/2019/07/10/tight-versus-loose-the-cultural-distinction-missionaries-arent-talking-about

Part 2- Honor, Shame, and Guilt within Tight and Loose Cultures

https://www.patheos.com/blogs/jacksonwu/2019/07/17/honor-shame-and-guilt-tight-and-loose-cultures/#disqus_thread

Part 3- How do tight and loose cultures practically influence ministry

https://www.patheos.com/blogs/jacksonwu/2019/07/24/how-do-tight-and-loose-cultures-practically-influence-ministry/

The primary writer about this concept is Michele Gelfand, who wrote the 2018 book, Rule makers, rule breakers: How tight and loose cultures wire our world.

“Thus the paradox: While norms have been the secret to our success, they’re also the source of massive conflict all around the world.” - from the excerpt provided by the publisher at:

https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Rule-Makers-Rule-Breakers/Michele-Gelfand/9781501152931

More articles by the author are also found at https://www.michelegelfand.com/

So far the blogs by Jackson have given us great pause for consideration for missionary member care.

We want to share it with you.

Blessings, Randy and Jane Rhoades
