TWO MONTHS LEFT
to apply for a park grant for your school!

APPLY NOW

In honor of the annual Kids to Parks Day, celebrated on May 16th this year, National Park Trust is once again providing the opportunity for schools in the U.S. to “win” a field trip grant to celebrate this national day of outdoor play. This national contest is open to all U.S. Title I schools, grades pre-k through 12. Each winning contest entry may be awarded up to $1,000 to visit a local park, public land or water. Last year more than 80 classrooms received park grants!

The contest is intentionally easy to enter because we want students to prepare the application themselves (with teacher support of course!). Each contest entry must address ALL three elements of the program:

  • Education - How will you use the park as an outdoor classroom?
  • Health and Wellness - How will you promote a healthy lifestyle through outdoor recreation?
  • Park Stewardship - How will you make the park a better place through a volunteer service project?
"Many of my students had never been camping before and only 1 had ever been to this park before.

It is safe to say that ALL students either developed or furthered a deeper love of nature, along with respect to their surroundings."
- Jennifer Lucero, Teacher at Coalinga High (CA)
APPLY NOW

Hurry, the deadline for entries is Friday, February 14, 2020! Winners will be announced on our website on Friday, March 6, 2020.
