Thank you for being my partner!

As Thanksgiving approaches and I sit and reflect on this year, about all the work we did together, I am overwhelmed with gratitude. Just four years ago, when I started LEAD Girls of NC, I stated I was on a mission. I was serious! I learned very quickly that I couldn’t do this work alone. I didn’t just need supporters, I needed partners. Thank you for choosing to partner with me and LEAD Girls of NC.

LEAD Girls’ mission has guided us every step of the way to serve over 450 girls, to partner with three local schools and dozens of allies in the nonprofit and business communities. LEAD Girls’ community-based program recently contracted with Forsyth County Department of Social Services and became a recommended program through Juvenile Justice Courts, allowing us to potentially double our reach to hundreds of girls who will benefit from LEAD programs. Our partners, through donations, volunteering, ambassadorship and spreading the word about LEAD, truly make our work possible.

Over the past four years with our partners support, we’ve realized some incredible goals—with over 90% of girls reporting positive outcomes after completing LEAD—and we’ve pioneered programs that get girls powered up to make changes in their lives. You made this possible. It was your partnership that allowed us to sustain and grow LEAD Girls for 4 years!

Girls thrive in our programs. There was a 16% increase in participants saying “no” when they mean it and asking for what they want. 86% of participants report taking responsibility for choice and 94.1% say they’re more focused on setting goals they want to achieve in life. We are proud that LEAD Girls is equipping them to reach high, set goals and take steps to achieve them.

While it’s true that we’re doing a lot, we recognize there’s a lot more to do. We’re ready and willing to do it! And we know we can continue to sustain and grow the organization with continued support from our partners. So, when we work to change a girl, a community and eventually the world, you are the catalyst for making it happen.

I hope you will proudly put your LEAD Girls partnership on display using the enclosed gift. Whether you place it on your car, in your home or at your workplace, please let it be a small reminder of how much we appreciate your partnership and all that you do to make it possible for a girl like Brie, who’s being raised by her sister in the absence of her mother and father in her life, to have the opportunity to see a leader within herself and push to get accepted into early college.

Together we can do anything! I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving just knowing that you are truly making an impact. To make a donation to LEAD, visit our website

Warmest wishes for the holidays,
