"It's been five months since I contracted Chikungunya virus (I know—I'd never heard of it either). Today marks the fourth time I've experienced painful infections in the corneas of both eyes as a secondary symptom of this disease. Most other symptoms have abated. I'm walking and able to get up and down stairs well with only a little residual joint pain, mostly in the morning. But I'd really appreciate your prayers for my eyes. I am receiving good medical care, but no one can tell me how to prevent recurrences and it's VERY painful (though apparently not sight-threatening). Fortunately, I was able to see a doctor sooner this time, so it's not as bad as the previous two times. But I'm more than ready to be back to a normal life!'
