Editorial
Dear Friends,
We begin this edition of our newsletter with a new “Best of” document released by the GMFH publishing team. With an editorial by Mary Ellen Sanders and Andreu Prados, the document contains a selection of human studies on the health benefits of synbiotics.
Next up, we have a new post written by Dr. Numan Oezguen and Dr. James Versalovic, presenting their improved disease classification technique that enables personalized diagnosis of pediatric patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) based on their gut microbiome.
You will also come across a new study that, for the first time, encounters associations between psychosocial distress and the milk microbiota in healthy breastfeeding women following full-term pregnancies.
Finally, we have a new review that suggests that probiotics, cognitive behavioral therapy and hypnotherapy might be considered when managing children with functional abdominal pain disorders.
Happy reading!
