TangoAustralia - brings you Christmas and New Year News.
Christmas tree made of stars with TangoAustralia December 2019 banner
Dear <<First Name>>

Just back from BASH (Buenos Aires in the Southern Highlands) where the weekend of community tango in the little NSW town of Bundanoon (pop 2,700+) was a blast! Happy people dancing, DJs keeping the floor pumping, time to chat and have a coffee with tango friends, to walk in the verdant Morton National Park and to simply chill out with tango.
The absolute highlight was a brilliant performance by
Mendoza Tango Quintet on the Saturday night. I have watched this group go from strength to strength since the first time I heard them play at the Camelot Lounge as a support act for Tangalo. Wow! The arrangements, the passion and the proficiency are world class. Magical D'Arienzo was so good I had to stop dancing and just listen and watch. The inclusion of the young student Sam, who played with the group last year when they were short of a bass player at the last minute, was a great move. Thank you Mendoza.
With Christmas coming - there is plenty of tango to add to your calendar... and maybe tango accessories to add to your Christmas wish list!!
Keep us posted on what's happening - so we can keep everyone in touch!

Wishing you a safe and happy festive season - and lots of tango!

Just Us Tango tango band
Together with Bandoneon Australia, Just Us Tango is hosting Bandoneon Open Day at the Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centre, 55 Ainslie Avenue, Braddon on Saturday December 7 from 2pm to 5pm.
This is a first! The Facebook page tells us: " The event will run from 2pm to 5 pm and is a chance for students to learn about and experience playing this magical instrument, most famous for the distinctive sound it lends to tango music.
"The director is Rodolfo Caivano, an Argentinian-Australian Bandoneon player who studied with Argentina’s finest bandoneon players. Rodolfo has many years’ experience playing in traditional tango orchestras and ensembles, and is currently teaching bandoneon to students, as well as organising the Orchestra School of Tango in Canberra.
"Students of all levels are welcome. It will be a fun, relaxed, and hands-on day, where the emphasis is on trying new things and absorbing some of the culture of Argentinian tango music."
