Hello Lazies.
On Wednesday night, Anthony Davis would return to his former stomping ground and face the team that drafted him No. 1 overall in 2012, the New Orleans Pelicans. The crowd rained down boos on the former franchise player, yet he answered the call by scoring 41-points — an NBA record for the most points scored against a former team.
Davis didn’t just score continuously throughout the night, he forced the 114-110 win by stealing the last-second inbound pass intended for Brandon Ingram. The Lakers would ultimately win the game by free-throws.
Los Angeles now rides a 9-game winning streak with a 16-2 overall record putting them on top of the NBA standings. Davis is having an All-Star year, averaging 26.1 points, 9 rebounds, 2.8 blocks and 1.6 steals for the year. Nothing surprising there. However, LeBron James also had an historic night surpassing 33,000 career points and currently leads the league in assists.
The chemistry between these two superstars is so obvious. Together, LeBron James and Anthony Davis are so aware of one another’s talent. They help each other on and off the court, and that type of connection between two star players bleeds into everyone else. This isn’t a team that’s playing with each other. It’s a team playing for each other.
