#StartupManifesto
Friday, 29 November 2019
Dear <<First Name>>,
This week we launched our Startup Manifesto with our good friends at Coadec. Our 21 policy recommendations aren't an exhaustive list of everything we want, but taken together they fill some vital gaps in the main parties' manifestos around access to capital, talent and regulatory reform, which if implemented would go a long way to supporting the UK's most ambitious startups.
It was backed by 250 entrepreneurs who are listed on this FT Sifted article. If you didn't get the chance to lend your voice to this, sign up as a Member so you'll be notified about opportunities like this in the future. The report was trailed in The Sunday Telegraph, and covered in The Times, City AM, New Statesman, CapX, and many other places.
If you're particularly passionate about any of the ideas let me know, as we will be working hard to ensure that the next government listens.
Manifesto destiny
In his most recent policy update, our Research Director Sam Dumitriu has pored over the manifestos so you don't have to. As he explains: "The aim of this update isn’t to tell you how to vote, indeed we’re not covering many of the most important issues the country faces from climate change to the NHS. But we want to give you an idea of what’s likely to happen post-election and how it might affect your business and/or future entrepreneurial efforts."
It's 5-minute read and covers everything from Brexit and immigration to tax and regulation. Our monthly policy updates are designed to help business owners better understand how changing policies could impact them. You can sign up for future updates here.
Cable guy
I'll be interviewing Sir Vince Cable on the evening of 10th December at an AGORA event in central London. Tickets are free, and there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions. I hope to see some of you there!
