New Opportunities for Girls 

At 12 years old, Djama was preparing for marriage. She had dropped out of school so that she could learn all of the household tasks she would need to know to be a “good wife” in Niger. Operation Home Safe

During the week of November 10, 2019, an ice jam downriver of the Bearskin Lake First Nations community caused the river and surrounding lakes to rapidly flood. The community declared a state of emergency and issued an order of evacuation for the 360 residents.  Read How ADRA Responded 

Canadian Foodgrains Bank Learning Tour to India 2020

Want to learn more about global hunger, what causes it, and what can be done about it?

Our partner, the Canadian Foodgrains Bank (CFGB), is hosting a learning to tour to India from February 24th to March 5th, 2020. Travelers will learn firsthand from communities partnered with CFBG. They will have the opportunity to meet with CFGB’s partners and learn about their initiatives to end hunger and how Canadians can be more involved. Read More

From Canada to Cambodia: EMBRACE the Challenge

Our EMBRACE Challenge has been extended to February 28.  There is still time to take the challenge for a chance to travel to Cambodia!  ADRA is inviting high school and college students to participate.  Complete this short online course and you may be eligible to travel to Cambodia on a learning tour if you are a high school student or an internship if you are a college/university student!  The challenge ends on February 28, so don't delay!
