Family Update

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We hope that each of you enjoyed your time with your family and friends, and also had some amazing food. But more than that we hope you were able to give the Lord thanks for the amazing things He is always doing around each of us. Even when we are not watching, He is always at work and has us in His hands. When I thought about what to be thankful for I thought back to 3 years ago, it was when God let us start this dream that we had to become a reality. We started to raise money and pray for Burkina, and all that He wanted to do. A little less than 3 years ago we were standing under a tree on the land the village gave us praying for the Lord to direct our ways and help us make all the dreams in our hearts to come true. As we stand in that same land today, I am blown away by all that God has accomplished and allowed to happen. For that I am beyond words grateful and cannot praise His name enough! For He is worthy of all praise for this ministry and everything in it.

I am also so incredibly grateful for Barto, who is strong, wise, patient, and kind, a reflection of Christ to the ones around him. For our 3 girls I am also grateful, each of them are so unique and special, I am constantly amazed by how fast they are learning and also how they have adapted to life here. They are building friendships with the kids in the area and learning the language well. I am so proud of each of them! I am also so thankful for each of you, who have helped us in this entire journey, who prayed and supported us in every way, we could not be here without all of you. We praise God for all He has done, and will continue to do. He is always faithful, in good and hard times.

We were able to paint the outside of our house this month, and it looks so nice. We hope to soon paint the inside, along with doing some electrical work and getting more solar batteries. We would also love to tile the house in time; in all if we can raise another $4,000 we can cover all of that. It is really nice to see our house become a home where our children are growing and learning. The Tuesday night prayer meetings are going well, and also the women’s garden project is starting up again for the year. We usually have close to 40 women and children come on Tuesdays, and we have 23 women involved in the garden project.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.”

School Update/Sponsorship

The school building is finished! The kids are in their classrooms and doing very well. We are very proud of our teachers as we watch the kids’ progress through the past two months. Because all of our students are children from villages, I feel like people have underestimated them, and how incredibly capable they are to succeed. Please be praying for our kids, for them to feel loved, cherished, capable, and to be able to meet Jesus in this school year. They really have loved their Bible time each day, we brought French children’s Bibles for the teachers to read and explain to the kids, and they really enjoy it!

We have started the lunch program and it has helped the kids a lot, and we praise God for allowing us to have that this year. We are also really praying to start construction on the second school building this next month. We would like to raise another, $10,000, to be able to build that second building along with finishing up other projects like more outdoor bathrooms and government paperwork.

We are still in need of 6 more sponsors for our school. We are looking for people who would like to give $50 a month and sponsor either the preschool or first grade classrooms. This money will go towards paying our teachers, guards, cleaning lady, and supplies needed to run it monthly. We are so excited for people to be able to connect with our school in this way, and know that they are making a difference in the lives of almost 300 children to receive an education. If you would like to help out in anyway, just let us know. And thank you SO much to all of you who are already sponsoring, we are so grateful for you!

Prayer Requests
  • For Felicity, Briella, and Lilya to stay healthy.
  • For this new school year—For the children to know Jesus, feel loved, and learn well.
  • Government paperwork
  • For the Lord to give us wisdom and always listen to His voice.
  • Financial needs to be met for other building projects and sponsorship program.
  • Our teachers to be patient and love on the kids.
  • Language for Tenielle—to improve my Moore and French
  • Safety issues and political unrest in Burkina Faso

Thank you all so much for helping us make all of this happen, to see the completed school building made me think of all of the people who gave to the project. I am so grateful for each of you, thank you so much for all that you do. May God always bless you all.
