Dear Friend,

It is hard to believe that 2019 is drawing to a close! Metanoia has been blessed by your prayers this year for our work in the prisons. We pray that your Holiday Season will be filled with Christ in all His glory and greatness! We are excited about what God has done this year and we look forward to what He will do in 2020. Please join us in prayer throughout this season.

December Updates and Praises

  • Metanoia held its first-ever benefit concert. Approximately 150 people came out to see the Quebe Sisters perform and to hear testimonies from several former mentoring partners. It was a wonderful evening!
  • We are thankful for Rev. John Theoharis. John has served on staff for the past two years. Effective December 1, John will be transitioning from staff to Board Member.
  • In October we graduated 11 men in the MINTS Seminary at Walker State. 8 men received certificates, 2 received AA degrees and 1 received his BA degree! We anticipate a larger graduation, including MA students at the end of the first quarter in 2020!

December Prayer Requests

  • Please pray that God will provide for Metanoia to meet our 2019 budget and have a surplus for 2020.
  • Please pray about our newest work at Leath Correctional in Greenwood, SC. The launch has been postponed until January.
  • Please pray that God will grant us discernment and understanding as we look to help TN begin mentoring.
  • Please pray about a possible new mentoring site at Lockhart Correctional Facility in TX. This is a women's prison.
  • Please pray for each of our staff: Shelly Marshall: Correspondence Ministry Administrator, Tim McCracken, Regional Director, San Joaquin Valley, Paul Miller, Regional Director, Texas, Tony Rogers, Regional Director, SC, Barry Smith, Regional Director, TN and MINTS Seminary Coordinator, Steven Howell, Mentor Ministry Administrator, Mark Andrews, Regional Director, NC
  • Please pray for student longevity in the correspondence ministry. We want to work with students as long as possible.
  • Please pray for more mentors at each of our mentor sites. Pray that God will raise up laborers for this ministry.
  • Please pray about giving to Metanoia financially. Also pray that God will bring new partners in this work.

December Travel Dates

  • 19-24: Gatlinburg, TN: Family Christmas Getaway!
