Future Vision 2020 Caribbean Conference

Dear Friends and Ministry Partners,

Imagine church leaders from Cuba, Haiti and across the Caribbean gathered to learn from one another, to encourage and to pray for one another, and together, to advise World Team on lessons learned from our successes and mistakes in their region over the past 90 years.

Imagine every invited denomination sending one developing leader under the age of 35 who will help shape the next generation. Imagine the older leaders mentoring them and listening to their perspectives!

Future Vision 2020 Caribbean Conference.

Caribbean churches are separated by geography and language, but their opportunities and challenges are very much the same.

Every island faces the growing pressures of secularism, the LGBT movement, and the advancement of Islam.

While at the same time, each church association has the maturity to send missionaries to unreached peoples of the world.

UNIE has trained Bible teachers to help the Wayana and Trio, while the churches in the jungle are sending their own missionaries to reach other Amerindian tribes.

The cost for one leader's room/board/materials for this unique opportunity is $580 USD. We have asked each denomination to pay for their airfare, but we know that most will need assistance from World Team for the conference fees.

Over the past few years, our affiliated church associations in the Caribbean celebrated their 90th, 80th and 70th anniversaries. Others are newer works, but World Team has much to learn from all of them, as they do from each other. Our goal is to help one another fulfill Christ's command to "go into all the world and make disciples of all nations."

Fellowship and Prayer, along with informal conversations, help to create trust and collaboration.

Leadership lessons from Jesus, Developing a mentoring culture, and Engaging in Global Missions will be some of the topics discussed.

This conference has been a dream of mine for the past four years. The more I travel in the Caribbean the more I am convinced that these church leaders can learn lessons from each other that a missionary can't give them. The fact that fewer missionaries are being sent from North America makes it all the more vital that the churches in the Caribbean connect more deeply with one another.
