Hello fellow dancer
Here's the latest update of what's happening this month, with a shout out for extra helpers for a couple of evenings (see below).

First though, Monday nights have been changing. Since the summer many people new to the area have been coming dance; the age range has become more diverse and we've had some high energy evenings.
I am not sure what trend is at work though it is welcome to see this happening.
I recently worked out that we now have on average 38 people per evening whereas for the first half of this year it was, on average, around 24 people per evening - not sustainable financially long-term.
(By the way, you may be surprised to learn that we need at least £220 each week just to cover our costs. Yes!)

Dance etiquette:
With so many people new to these dances, the Collective's Steering Circle together with the teachers have, over several months, been working on an etiquette document giving guidelines of what we find works and supports our dance space.
This will be available soon as a flyer on the front desk. It can though be viewed now on the Totnes Dance Collective website on this link.

Help needed ! A free class in exchange
We currently have a large team of helpers who, in exchange for a free class, help with various tasks needed to put on the evenings. Kirsty (Hurd-Thomas) is the person who usually deals with organising the helpers and creating a list for a two or three month period.

The exchange is for helping in one of three areas:
   • altared space / installation / creation
   • on the door, greeting and taking money
   • setting up the space and taking down at the end of the evening
All helpers arrive earlier and complete at the end by 10pm sharp.

The New Year period — all the current team are unavailable!!
December 30th and January 6th are two dates where all aspects of the helper roles are needed.

6th - Rosie with Movement Medicine - helpers needed
