Message from our MP

Vicky Foxcroft

"As we approach the end of the year, I'd like to wish everyone at Three Boroughs Housing all the best for the festive season. Earlier this year I offered my support in helping to resolve the issue you have been having with CHISEL and while I know it is still ongoing, I am pleased to hear you have made progress. Housing is the issue which generates the most casework for me and I am always happy to assist residents in their efforts to secure a decent standard of living. I will continue to do all I can to support Three Boroughs and anyone else who needs it."
Register to vote to get on the electoral register, or to change your details. It usually takes about 5 minutes.
Welcome to all our new co-op members some of whom aren't housed yet but are on our waiting list. We look forward to your involvement in co-op activity.
You may have noticed The Pie and Mash Social Centre on Deptford High Street where the Old Coral betting shop used to be. They are offering free tea and coffee and running free events for as long as they can keep hold of the space although it's due for development. We will be keeping an eye on events there and will keep members here posted. Pop in when you get a chance and say hi. It's a very welcoming community space.

Here's the latest update from the Pie n Mash Autonomous Social Cafe - coming to you from our new home at 70 Deptford High St, the old Coral betting shop.
The Pie 'n' Mash Squat is open to squatters, locals and visitors alike to come and join for a cup of tea, coffee, snacks etc while organising together toward a better world.
Our hours are most days 12-3, and 7-9.
Since moving in to the new space there have already been several communal dinner nights, themed film and discussion nights, a Homework Club scheduled to start in the new year, run by a DBS-checked facilitator. We also hope to cook a Xmas roast dinner for the neighbourhood on the 13th December.
The project has continued with the participation of people who use the space - local people from the street are now coming in to help serve tea and coffee, and generally clean and keep the place tidy for all who use it.
Lots of people who are using the cafe are stepping up to help, however we have decided we would need to have one person responsible for ensuring all the little tasks for each shift are done and generally being aware of what's going and what is needed for the cafe.
We would like to ask any of you who are interested in helping out to come down and help us cover the shifts.
If you are able to do any particular shifts please write in and we will organise in the calendar, also we have created a signup sheet here:

https://signup.zone/jmoritFsR4ZKXPe8s

Please signup and put your first name (or whatever name you like) on any shifts that you can help cover. All information will be kept fully confidential. We are happy to run through the principles and tasks with anyone who is interested in covering a shift. With your support, we can continue to keep the cafe open each day!
We are continuing to keep a strict no-alcohol policy during the open period, and have a separate zone for smoking at the back.
Also, there are more opportunities now for the space to serve the community due to its location and also the state of the building - with disabled access, and a wider and lighter room space.
If any of you wish to hold an event or class for the local community, please send your event proposal in writing to EMAIL ADDRESS
We have a freeshop to browse, information on local campaigns and events, a small collection of books to read, boardgames and cardgames to play
Donations of clothes in good condition are welcomed from your readers, as well as donations from surplus food, and winter items so we can supply those in most need.
Hope to see you soon!
Love to all,

The Pie n Mash Autonomous Squatted Social Centre
