Dear Greylock Together,

Our climate change meeting tomorrow is canceled, due to the impending snowstorm.  The meeting is rescheduled for 12/8, still at the Williamstown Youth Center at 3:00 pm.  The agenda will be the same, and hopefully so will the guests.  If you can't wait until then to get your fill of climate activism, don't forget about Bill McKibben's visit to MCLA on 12/5 and Ruby Lerman's 12/6 Climate Strike.

Reminder: Climate and weather are not the same thing.  When we have a big meeting scheduled about the climate crisis and then a big snowstorm blows in, it is incredibly tempting to say that climate change caused the weather.  But as the temperature continues to rise in the future, we're likely to see little local change in extreme precipitation, according to current projections from UCSD.  Instead, we're going to see significant shifts in total precipitation -- a warmer, wetter world which reshapes the landscape and eviscerates our ecosystems.  And those effects will be mild compared to many other places, as coastal flooding, shifting water tables, and a hyperactive storm cycle wreak havoc.  Don't be like clueless Senator James Inhofe (R-OK), who brought a snowball to the Senate floor to "prove" there was no climate change.  Rain, shine, or snow, it doesn't matter -- we need to act now.    Find out more here, and come to our meeting next week!

Resist and persist!
