Primary

Word from the Primary Head

I would like to extend my thanks to Ms Andria Spring for her hard work ensuring that there will be ECAs available for the French Section MS and GS students during the second semester of this school year.

Thanks to her commitment, all's well that ends well, and our MS and GS families were able to choose from a selection of the most popular ECAs from the first semester. Moreover, we were able to offer more ECAs in French, which makes us very happy indeed!

Wishing you all a nice week and good parent-teacher meetings to all!

Ms Carine Capel

If you have young children (PS to GS) who need to use the toilet on pick-up or drop-off, or whilst ECAs are in progress, please use the children’s toilets in the infant building.  These have been designed for easy access for children of that age and should not need adult support. Secondary

A word from the secondary assistant head

Starting today and until the winter break, our 2nde students are sitting the mock exams in English and Chinese for the IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education). These exams, organised by Cambridge Assessment, a department of Cambridge University, are recognised internationally. They certify the level of language that our students have, and the final grade may be taken into account for those who want to study at an Anglo-Saxon university.

All of our 2nde students study Enlgish with the British Secondary and High School Section (almost all of them study Chinese with them too). This means they have the advantage of a high level of English and Chinese language teaching, which is demanding and requires commitment from the students in order to be able to do well in the exams. It is an example of one of the advantages studying at TES has for our students.

Parents of 4ème to 2nde students who are interested in knowing more about the IGCSE exams are invited to an information meeting this Thursday 5th December at 5pm at the EPC amphitheatre.

One final reminder: the report cards for the first term are being sent by email this evening.
