The RPAYC will be running the famous Tackers Kids Learn to Sail program for Kids aged 7-12 yrs. Along with this we are excited to be offering the new OutThere Youth program which gives youth a cross section of on water activities to try (SUPs, Windsurfing, Sailing) for Teens 13-17 yrs.

Youth OutThere Program (13 - 17yrs) 

Sailing is an opportunity for 13–17 year old's looking to try something new on the water. The OutThere Sailing program offers a fantastic way to experience sailing, have fun, make new friends and learn exciting and valuable skills that will help you both now and in the future.
OutThere Sailing is open to all - you don't have to have sailed before. In most cases you will be on the water from day one as part of a group with an Instructor close at hand. Depending on your location, you could be sailing, windsurfing, stand-up paddle boarding, sailing a keelboat. 

There are two registration fee categories available for this Course:

  • $390.00^ - RPAYC Youth Members
  • $490.00 - Non Members

Tackers Kids Learn to Sail (7 - 12 yrs)
'TACKERS' is a Learn to Sail program from Kids aged 7-12 years. There are three Levels: Tackers 1, Tackers 2 & Tackers 3.

Learning to sail is one of the most satisfying and fulfilling activities a child can do. Sailing is such an incredibly versatile sport, it can be enjoyed by young and old, at adrenalin pumping levels or an avenue to enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon. Best of all, it all starts here! In the Australian Sailing (AS) Tackers Program by The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club.

The Alfred's offers a simple training pathway for kids wanting to get start sailing. Courses are delivered by Australian Sailing (AS) accredited instructors following a national syllabus.

If you would like to discover sailing, we will provide a safe, fun, and affordable environment to build your skills.
The 2019 December School Holiday program:

Week 2: Tuesday 17th December to Friday 20th December

The 2020 January School Holiday programs will be running over three separate weeks:

Week A: Tuesday 7th January to Friday 10th January
Week B: Tuesday 14th January to Friday 17th January
Week C: Tuesday 21st January to Friday 24th January
Time: 9.00am to 3.30pm

How to Register

For the new training season onward, the Alfred's will now be using the Australian Sailing registration system (Revolutionise Sport), for all course and program registrations. At the time of registration, each 'participant' will be required to enter their Australian Sailing Number and Date of Birth. If you have forgotten your Australian Sailing Number you can search it via this link - https://www.sailing.org.au/member-finder/
 
 
Upon registering for a course or program, if you’ve never had an Australian Sailing Number, follow the prompts provided, you will be issued one upon your first registration within the system.
 
 
The benefits of using the Australian Sailing system to each user will include, a fast-track registration process (once initially setup), plus a great way to track your progress in sailing in your ‘profile’, along with a place to store all of your course completion certificates and qualifications online.
 
 
As a further reminder, we kindly request all course and program participants to regularly login to their Australian Sailing Profile (using your Australian Sailing number), to make sure that all 'personal information', plus 'medical and emergency contact information', is current and up to date.
