DPS GIVES BACK! This year, the members of DPS raised $650 for the purchase of goods to be donated to Sojourner House and Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center - both organizations provide immediate assistance to those in domestic/sexual violence situations. We donated a mountain of new Hasbro toys to the Fox Point Boys and Girls Club with our Stuff A Cruiser campaign and more than $250 for Brown Gives.
On December 13th, Chief Porter was presented with the Law Enforcement Leadership Award by the Rhode Island Guardians Association, during their annual awards dinner held at the Cape Verdean Progressive Center.

The RIGA is a minority police organization dedicated to creating stronger bonds and relationships between the communities its members serve and all members of the criminal justice system.

Members of the Rhode Island Guardian Association devote their time, experience, expertise and mentoring skills to better guide and prepare young college and high school students of color for a viable career in the field of criminal justice. Congratulations, Chief Porter!
