Welcome from the Director
2019 has been another exciting year at the Platteville Public Library! Numerous area groups have worked with us at the library, and we're so grateful for all of our partnerships and library supporters. You may have also seen the library out and about this year as we expanded our outreach to the community. We were thrilled to welcome new staff on board this year as well. Rounding out 2019, we're also relaunching our email newsletter - welcome! We look forward to seeing all of you at the library in 2020.

Jessie, Library Director: My family has been loving the Chompers podcast lately. This two-minute podcast, geared towards children ages 3-7, makes tooth brushing fun by sharing silly songs, facts, jokes, and brainteasers on a weekly theme. With friendly reminders for when it's time to switch from one quadrant of the mouth to another and an enthusiastic countdown to the final spit, this podcast is helping my kids form healthy habits.
Leanne, Circulation Lead: I recently read Imaginary Friend by Stephen Chbosky. The story reminded me of the books It and The Stand by Stephen King. A classic good versus evil tale with twists and turns and plenty of gory parts!
Lydia, Youth Services Specialist: I'm re-reading the anthology Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle. Netflix recently released their adaptation of the book so I recommend both watching the movie and reading the book for comparison. The magic of the holidays shines on these hilarious and charming interconnected tales set during a Christmas blizzard.
Rosa, Reference Specialist: I love Kate Atkinson's Jackson Brodie series and I devoured the latest installment, Big Sky. You will enjoy this series if you like melancholy British mysteries; start with Case Histories. When you're done with the books you can watch Jason Isaacs in the television adaptation.
