Surviving the Holidays with Cats

The holidays are full of fun and wonder, however, when you throw a cat into the mix things may get a bit more complicated. If you want to stay out of the vet's office this holiday season, you'll need to ensure your decor is cat-friendly. The typical trappings of Christmastrees, lights, poinsettias, and garlandscan be full of temptation for kitties, so be sure to develop a cat-proofing strategy that keeps your furball at bay and anything potentially harmful or toxic well out of reach.

Do Adoption Double-Duty

Who wouldn't want twice the cuteness of a single adoption? In addition to doubling the fun AND saving a second life, there are lots of benefits to adopting a bonded pair. Rescuing two cats or kittens provides an inseparable companion for life, helps encourage good litter and feeding behaviors, and keeps them mentally stimulated and exercised even if you can't be home during the day. Sounds like a win-win!
