Candlelight Christmas Eve worship services at Abiding Grace will be held at 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24. Come celebrate the birth of our Savior! Invite your family and friends—all are welcome!
Advent Family Nights. Our final Advent Family Night is this Wednesday, December 18, with the theme "Chilly a night it was at Jesus' birth." Please bring your favorite chili to share for the dinner at 6:30 p.m. The Advent worship service will be at 7:00 p.m. followed by a family activity of movie trivia night from 7:30 to 8:00 (the winning family gets an AMC gift card). All are invited!
Advent devotionals. Pastor Nick has been working with other local pastors to create an Advent devotional booklet. This week's book was available last Sunday at church. If you were not able to pick one up, please email the church office
Mission Freedom update. We now have 81 pledges for a total of $702,363! Thank you for your generosity and faithfulness! God is good! If you haven’t had the chance to make a pledge, you can still do so before the end of the year.
Christmas Eve volunteers. If you can help by being a worship assistant for either the 5:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. Christmas Eve worship service, please sign up at the Worship kiosk.
Christmas poinsettias. If you would like to donate a poinsettia to decorate the chancel this year in honor or memory of a loved one, please sign up online or at the Worship kiosk in the sanctuary. The suggested donation is $10 per plant.
Our angel tree overflows with gifts for San Gabriel! Thanks to all who brought gifts this year—they will be delivered to the children at San Gabriel in Alvarado this week.
Thanks to all our Sunday School children for leading us in worship last Sunday with a wonderful presentation of Starry Night, Noisy Night. Thanks to director Linnea Wolters and all the Sunday School teachers!
Mr. Rogers Adult Sunday School. Pastor Nick will be leading an adult Sunday School class each Sunday in January on the theology of Mr. Rogers. These classes will begin at 10:00 a.m. and be held in the south side of the sanctuary. Anyone interested in attending is strongly encouraged to see the film A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood prior to January 5.
Secret Sisters. It is time to draw for Secret Sisters for 2020. A Secret Sister is someone to pray for daily for one year; celebrate her special occasions with a small gift or card; secretly let her know she is loved and prayed for. You will reveal your identity at the end of the year. Sign-up forms are available at the Fellowship kiosk. Please return your completed form by Sunday, January 12. For more information, contact Dee Rose or Carol Court.
Community breakfast. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Irving offers breakfast to its neighbors the fourth Saturday of each month. If you wish to help for the next breakfast (December 28) by providing food, serving, or cleaning up, please sign up online at https://signup.com/go/nqODvah
New Southlake green space. The city of Southlake has purchased the land to our west (between us and HarborChase) to add to the city's park space. For now, the land will stay in its current passive state with perhaps a bit of brush cleanup, preserving the natural feel of our campus. You can read more online
ELCA Good Gifts. Looking for a last-minute gift for someone who already has everything? Shop ELCA Good Gifts and give the gift of water, farm animals, education, or another meaningful gift to someone around the world who really needs it—all in the name of your friend or loved one.
Keep in prayer. Please keep the following people in your prayers: Sandy, Jeff, Arty, Dawn, Sarah, Tracy, Mona, Mimi, Shirley, Kaye, Davey, Mike, Arthur, Elenor, Charles, Jim, Elaine, David, Susan, Ron, Roger, Linda, Rich, Corbin, Chris, Tommy, Zach, Betty, Chris and Kim, Ken, LaRue, Dusty, Debbie, Charles, Blake family, Jenni, Nolan, Roger, Micah, Christensen family, Nora, Michelle, Jeanne, Shirley, Alissa, Tomlinson family, Ali, Ben, Lorraine, and Joan.
