Today we launched the CASR YouTube channel and we would like to share our first video showcasing the equipment and capabilities we built with the support of the South Australian Government's Future Mobility Lab Fund. We are ready to work with industry and government and lead research into the safety performance of future vehicles.
The Centre for Automotive Safety Research (CASR) operates its own advanced equipment that can perform a wide range of standard and non-standard tests for advanced driver assistance systems  (ADAS)  and  connected and automated vehicles scenarios. Our equipment can be transported to field testing sites, allowing CASR and our clients to evaluate the effectiveness of emerging safety technologies. Having developed the equipment in-house, it can be readily adapted to future emerging technologies.  Some key pieces of equipment include:
  • Pedal robot
  • Steering robot
  • Vulnerable road user targets including a child, adult and cyclist
  • Autonomous, over runnable platform with vehicle target
  • High accuracy positioning equipment
The equipment can also be developed to support education and demonstration activities regarding new vehicle safety technology.

CASR would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable festive season. We look forward to catching up again in 2020.
