eVTOL Workshop: Infrastructure for UAM
New dates and location!

Following on the Vertical Flight Society's very successful Workshop on eVTOL Defining Challenges in September, VFS is hosting a follow-on 2-day in-depth Workshop on Infrastructure for Urban Air Mobility on March 17-18, 2020, at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey (not far from the FAA Tech Center in Atlantic City or Philadelphia).

Presentation slides from September's eVTOL Defining Challenges are available for free for attendees and all current VFS members. (Note: if you have never downloaded anything from the VFS Vertical Flight Library, you must first create an account. Contact membership@vtol.org if you need help.)

NEXA Advisors and the Vertical Flight Society have collaborated on an important study, "Urban Air Mobility (UAM) — Economics and Global Markets." This groundbreaking study covers market and economic forecasts for 74 metropolitan areas, 2020 – 2040, including technologies, policies, markets, infrastructure and economics. All 74 cities have been examined with deep city-level analysis and built out. See for a demo of New York City’s UAM potential!
Save the Date for VFS Forum 76!

The Vertical Flight Society's 76th Annual Forum and Technology Display will be held May 19-21, 2020 at the Palais des Congres de Montreal in Montreal, Quebec, with the theme, “The Future of Vertical Flight.”

The VFS Annual Forum is the world's leading international conference on vertical flight technology. The three-day event will include more than 250 technical presentations on every discipline from Acoustics to Unmanned Systems. Featured this year will be in-depth eVTOL technical paper sessions, a series of invited expert panels and speakers, and a new Short Course on Electric VTOL Aircraft Design. Learn more and make your plans today to attend!

The Technology Display, running concurrent with the Forum, is the most extensive exposition of cutting edge vertical flight technologies in the world, and also includes other technologies more broadly applicable to aerospace in general. Submit your application to exhibit at the world's largest and longest-running vertical flight technology conference.

In Case You Missed It:

In response to the Aug. 30 White House Memo that included electric VTOL in the Administration's Fiscal 2021 research and development priorities, the Vertical Flight Society collaborated with nine other leading associations and sent a letter to the Trump Administration. Read the letter, memo and more.

VFS held its Propulsion & Power Technical Meeting in Hampton, Virginia, on Oct. 29-30, 2019. Presentations are available for purchase/download from the VFS Vertical Flight Library. Several briefings covered eVTOL applications from small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) to electric VTOL. Check them out!
