SPREADING NEW ROOTS.....a transplant or just make more room? Sharing thoughts from Chris
Opportunity knocked - to move to a new, bigger, highly visibility location. Kristin Wills jumped in to liaise with the very keen landlord, the board of directors and members. In the past 2 weeks, many expressed their delight, concerns, questions and ideas. Julie Jones crunched numbers. We looked at sub-leasees and partnering with other businesses; putting up, taking down, moving walls and putting in a commercial kitchen.
After much discussion, it looks like now is not the time. However, the IDEA is firmly planted; a fundraising committee will be established (who’s in?) and we will continue to dialogue with the landlord about what might be possible in 12 – 18 months. In the meantime, we consolidate our position; increase sales and profits; make more changes where we are and truly get our ducks in a row so that when we do move, it will be well-considered, financially responsible and geared for success. Many opportunities to share your gifts and talents!

Let's stand together in gratitude for a job well done!
Kristin Wills has many irons in the fire and needs to pull out a few including resigning from the Board of Directors. Besides those responsibilities, she put in hundreds of hours in ordering, co-ordinating and installing our new freezers last summer and will continue to design new ways for our co-op space to be better utilized and engage members in what more we can do to be better and do better. Thank you for your many contributions, Kristin.

DID YOU KNOW...by supporting companies that source palm oil ethically we are demanding the same level of accountability and transparency that we do in support of our local vendors. Choosing our oil wisely means we are investing in smallholders support programs that are environmentally sustainable, leading with innovation. Thank you for your support and patience as we continue to make a difference locally and around the globe.

A Note From Your Purchaser
I can’t believe it is already December and the holiday season is upon us! This is the time to spend with family and friends…eating good food and enjoying good company. It is a time to indulge a little; with some organic chocolate, sit and relax with a cup of apple cider, made with Curlew Orchard local apple juice with some organic mulling spices or a cup of organic coffee brewed from our own local Jar Coffee! I am very thankful for the local products we have in our Co op and watch for more to come in the New Year!
Wishing everyone a healthy and happy holiday season!

Congratulations to Allison Chequis
Allison won the gift basket from MCC at the Lumby Community Elves Shelves Shop Event this past weekend.
At the event kids can pick out gifts for $1.00 for family and friends. Kristie Lee Wadsworth and her group raised $1,470 which will go towards local seniors, 0-6 programs, pathfinders and the new teen hangout in Lumby. Well done Kristie and team.
Allison, we hope you enjoy the treats in the basket from MCC.

- We have discontinued weekly sales and now have periodic, in-store sales on select products - we get a deal; you get a deal.
- Sometimes we are out of organic half and half cream, organic milk and organic whip cream. This is due to our supplier shorting us and then we cannot reorder for another week. We are sorry for any inconvenience to members who shop at our Co-op first! We do appreciate that!
- Product Recommendations…we can’t guarantee we can bring it in, but if several ask for it, it's more likely. Write down your suggestion on the product suggestion form by the checkout counter. If it's already there - add a check mark.
- The Co op has been growing and changing over the last few months so if you haven’t been in for awhile, be sure to stop in and have a good look!
