GIVING BACK
Lwanda has been a part of Sozo since the beginning, being one of our first Educentre students!
Lwanda joined Educentre when he was struggling to pass his school grades. Throughout his time at Educentre, Lwanda not only received the academic assistance he needed but gained confidence and leadership skills; so much so that he was given the Sozo Ambassador of the Year in 2014 award by his peers. Since graduating high school he has completed a National Diploma in Financial Management and is now studying towards a Financial Management degree through Unisa, all while working at a local finance company. But Lwanda also gives back by tutoring at Educentre during weekends.
Lwanda says “when you have the first-hand experience, you know what is going on in this community and what these young peoples are dealing with on a daily basis. We have the opportunity to invest in our own community so the impact keeps going on and on. I want to be an example.”
