We are writing to invite you to join an exciting initiative for the upcoming IUCN World Conservation Congress in Marseille, France – the IUCN #NatureForAll Youth Champions Summit. As part of the #NatureForAll Youth Champions initiative, this Summit aims to empower a new generation of conservation leaders to engage with and positively influence nature conservation decision-making and inspire broad-based positive action for nature now and in the future. We invite you to identify leading youth from your organasation or a partner organisation to participate in the Summit and the broader initiative. The Summit will run from June 16-19, but we strongly encourage youth participation in the whole of the Congress, from June 11-19.
The Youth Summit will connect leading youth 35 and under and ensure their voices are heard, their ideas are nurtured, and their energy unleashed. It will bring together existing youth networks to create a process for meaningful, not just symbolic, youth engagement with nature conservation. The vision for #NatureForAll Youth Champions is that youth will not only be an integral part of the IUCN Congress but that they will be supported, mentored, and fully engaged, in the true spirit of intergenerational partnership in the lead-up to Congress and in all aspects of nature conservation post-2020. Your support can help make that happen.
As is described in the programme concept, we are looking to organisations like yours to sponsor youth delegates who you think will benefit the most from participating in the Youth Champions Summit and other activities in Marseille. We are also actively raising funds to ensure the best experience and outcomes possible. Any contribution you wish to make to this initative, in cash or in kind, will help ensure impactful and sustained mobilisation of youth for nature conservation throughout 2020 and beyond. Please contact Camila Perez at camila.perez@iucn.org to confirm your support.
I hope that you agree this is an opportunity not to be missed to mobilise a new generation for nature. More details can be found in the attached #NatureForAll Youth Champions Summit concept.
Thank you for your continued support of #NatureForAll.
