DYC Newsletter 12/13/19

The 3rd through 5th grade volleyball season is coming to an end on Monday, December 16th, and four out of the six teams are still vying for 1st place. It has been a very competitive season! Congratulations to all!

REGISTER FOR BASEBALL WINTER WORKOUTS

Location: Hinsdale South Fieldhouse
Ages: 6U-14U
Dates: Sundays from February 2nd - March 1st
Times:
10:00-11:30am for 6U-9U
12:30-2:00pm for 10U-14U
Cost: $50 per player

The Winter Workout clinics offer your child hands on instruction covering all mechanics - hitting, fielding, throwing, catching, pitching and baserunning.

VOLLEYBALL EVALUATIONS

Evaluations for 6th-8th grade volleyball will be held at 6:30pm on Monday, January 6th, at Eisenhower Junior High. The evaluations should last approximately an hour and a half. Once the evaluations are complete, the coaches will pick the teams.

SOFTBALL WINTER WORKOUTS/SOFTBALL SPRING SEASON

The softball program provides girls, ages 5-14 of all abilities, an opportunity to learn and enjoy this exciting and rewarding sport. In addition to learning the game, kids will also learn how to be part of a team, communicate and problem solve with their peers, learn respect for their teammates, coaches, opponents and umpires, and begin to build leadership skills. Softball, like many sports, gives kids an opportunity to make new friendships which may last a lifetime!

2020 SEASON

Evaluations for 8U - 14U players will take place on March 14th from 7:00 - 9:00p.m. at the Hinsdale South Field House
Jersey Fittings for ALL levels will take place on March 14th from 7:00 - 9:00p.m. at the Hinsdale South Field House.
Team practices will begin in March
Season Starts towards the middle of April and Ends towards the middle of June - actual schedule will be available in April

Softball Levels

Fundamentals 6U Ages 5 & 6
Minors 8U Ages 7 & 8 (No Arc / Machine Pitch)
Majors 10U Ages 9 &10 (Fast Pitch)
Juniors 12U Ages 11 &12 (Fast Pitch)
Seniors 14U Ages 13 &14 (Fast Pitch)

Age eligibility is based on the child's age on January 1, 2019. All leagues, except Fundamentals, travel to play away games at surrounding towns.
