Downtown Cleveland Alliance Continues City Advocate Program
for Twelfth Year
Downtown Cleveland Alliance (DCA) is now accepting candidates for their City Advocates Young Professionals Board. DCA City Advocates represent a diverse group of rising leaders who share a passion for Downtown Cleveland and represent a wide array of interests, professional backgrounds and relationships with Downtown.

DCA hosts Cleveland Midway public meetings
Downtown Cleveland Alliance and others recently hosted Public Meetings with the representatives from the Cleveland City Planning Commission on the plans for the Midway, through the NineTwelve district, on Superior Avenue between Public Square and E. 55th Street. Come learn more about this exciting project, and see how when complete, the Midway will become the backbone to a protected bicycle/scooter network in Cleveland.
At this time of year, the colder weather and the approaching holiday season can be difficult for some in our community who experience challenges. As an organization committed to making the Downtown community a safe, welcoming place for all residents, workers, and visitors, our hope is to provide pathways to support those in need.
By donating to the Give Where It Counts campaign, your contribution will help provide necessary resources to our community.
Stepping in to diversify Downtown housing options, adding for-sale condominiums to the mix, Geis Cos. acquired the 10-story Avenue Tower and associated land at 1211 St, Clair Ave. With further plans submitted to the City of Cleveland Planning Commission, Geis plans to build an additional five-floor condo building, with 31 units just north of the tower.
Adding a mixture of for sale housing to the Downtown residential portfolio is key to Downtown reaching 30,000 residents by 2030 as noted in the 2018 Housing Demand Study, conducted by Downtown Cleveland Alliance and Philadelphia based Urban Partners.
The Avenue Townhomes
The Avenue District Development
Recognizing the growing demand for more for sale housing in Downtown Cleveland, the construction of the Avenue Townhomes and The Avenue District development in the NineTwelve district interrupts a ten year hiatus for new construction in Downtown Cleveland’s for sale housing market. The addition of both developments will provide 62 new for sale housing opportunities, which will significantly diversify the housing options in our center city neighborhood.
According to the 2018 Downtown Cleveland Housing Demand Study conducted by Downtown Cleveland Alliance and Philadelphia based Urban Partners, the addition of more for sale housing play a major role in making Downtown Cleveland home to 30,000 residents by 2030.
