Friday Night services take place at 1027 Pacific Street. There are two flights of stairs to access the space, but will be elevator accessible in the near future. Please reach out to Rabbi Leener with any questions. Shabbat Day services will take place in the PS 9 Auditorium at 80 Underhill Ave (entrance on Underhill). PHS Chanukah Party

Come welcome Chanukah with PHS and the best BBQ masters in town!

                Thanks to a generous subsidy, we have relocated our Chanukah party to Izzy's BBQ!

Join us on December 21 8 PM for a world-renowned BBQ buffet, complete with latkes and sufganiot. We'll have beer, wine, and great whiskey to go with the brisket and karaoke going all night. (Delicious veggie options will be available) You are *still* encouraged to wear your best ugly sweaters... but don't forget a bib!

Joint PHS-Altshul Volunteer Event - December 24

Join PHS and Altshul for a special volunteer event on December 24. 

Location:  Home of Lonnie and David Firestone (in Crown Heights, address provided upon RSVP)
Time: 9 PM - 10:30 PM
Project: Packaging 100 personal item bags for a food service nonprofit. Each attendee will sign up to bring a personal item (e.g. 10 travel size shampoos). We'll compile and assemble all of the items into personal bags. Drinks + shmoozing to follow. *This event is adults only.

To RSVP, click on the Event spreadsheet to select an item that you'll bring! 
The Firestones' home is subway accessible and pet free. There is one set of stairs to access the event space.

PHS Education: Fall Schedule

Advanced Talmud for Everyone with Noah Greenfield - ON BREAK UNTIL JANUARY
Whether you have experience with Talmud or are a novice, this class will explore seminal philosophical, religious and legal themes in the Talmud, based off of the teachings of Rabbi Dr. Joseph Soltoveitchik.

When: Thursday nights, 8:30PM (Class is on hiatus until January)
Where: Home of Noah and Nava Greenfield (email ngreenfield@gmail.com for address. Building is elevator accessible but there are a few stairs to access the living room. The Greenfield home is pet-free.)

Adventures in Hassidic Thought with Rabbi Jon Leener
Join Rabbi Leener as we explore the personalities and teachings of the great Hassidic Masters. From the Baal Shem Tov to Rav Kook, we will examine how these mystics redefined Jewish notions around the nature of God, the purpose of creation, the role of Man, the mission of Israel, the goal of the Torah, and much more! Please sign up here

We are looking for daveners and leyners! Please let us know if you’d ever like to leyn, read a haftorah, or lead davening — or if you’d like to learn how. In particular, we are seeking both women interested in reading megillot, Torah on Simchat Torah and at Bnei Mitzvahs, and men to leyn and lead mussaf each Shabbat morning.

The PHS community relies on the Greater Crown Heights Eruv, the Brooklyn Heights Eruv, and the Park Slope Eruv. For a map of the boundaries for the eruvim please follow this link. To donate for the upkeep of the Greater Crown Heights Eruv click here
