Waterfall Quilt Top

Last December I started a quilt along with Amy Ellis for her Waterfall quilt. Like many of my projects, it got started and then something shinier, or simply life, got in the way and it was set aside.

Palettes featuring Classic Blue

I'm so excited about the 2020 Pantone Color of the Year, Classic Blue! I've used Kona Surf (placed at the top of each palette) as my closest match for Classic Blue in these Kona palettes.
(1) Surf, Lake, Cyan, Storm, Copen, Oyster.
(2) Surf, Breeze, White, Acid Lime, Limelight, Geranium.
(3) Surf, Peacock, Cerise, Black, Deep Blue, Valentine.
(4) Surf, Glacier, Cactus, White, Limelight, Teal Blue.
The third palette was inspired by this photo from Disneyland. Inspiration is everywhere!

My Latest Open Wide Zippered Pouch

What a treat that my BAM swap partner requested purple and teal. I was excited to work with two colors that I love. If you're looking for a quick handmade gift, this pattern by Noodlehead is great. It's versatile and the free tutorial comes in three sizes.

Around the Web

I am excited about Pantone's announcement of Classic Blue as Color of the Year for 2020. It's a color that plays well with so many others. Anyone else want to make all the blue things!?

Check out this adorable, sunny pillow. It was the first time I ran across my blogger bundle, created for Bernie of Needle and Foot, out in the wild.

Is anyone making family jammies this season?

I've been admiring these pocket book pillows.

This week I played the nostalgic ABCDEFGHI... song from Sesame Street for my kids. I used to play that on my record player when I was a kid. Ah, memories.

I'm excited about my two wall calendars for 2020. Holidays (affiliate link) and color! :-)
Hello.

I hope December is treating you well, whether you are getting into the holiday spirit, making last minute gifts, or just counting down days until January 1.

My month started in the post-Thanksgiving bliss of having filled our house with friends and family for the holiday. I made it a little over a week until I was leveled with a cold. Some combination of asthma and past bouts of pneumonia makes colds hit me particularly hard. This week I have watched the entirety of Veronica Mars, taken numerous naps, finished a book and started two more, and as my energy has allowed, I've done a fair amount of sewing. Thankfully the sewing doesn't take much energy and allows for breaks of coughing fits. That list doesn't sound so bad, but I've also missed two holiday parties, not been able to go to yoga, had to cancel plans with friends, and there's a fair amount of housework piling up around me. But back to the sewing...

I have some holiday gifts in the works that I can't talk about quite yet, but I've made a little progress on a giant purple scrappy slab baby quilt, and I finished my Waterfall quilt top. For more details about the things I've been working on that I can share, check out my 12 blog posts in 12 days so far this month. 12 days down, 19 to go in the 31 Day Blog Writing Challenge.

I hope you're getting some sewing time!
