UPCOMING ACTIVITIES

  • 17-19 February, Next-Generation Live Cell Microscopy, Tromsø
    World-leading developers of advanced next-generation live-cell microscopy techniques assemble in Tromsø to deliver lectures on bio-imaging application, implementation details and underlying fundamental concepts.

    DLN covers travel expenses for research school members if they apply for travel grants.

     
  • 23-26 January, NBS Contact Meeting, Vossevangen
    Centre for Digital Life Norway supports the lecture by Sivia Santos. Her research group uses microscopy, genomics, proteomics and mathematical approaches to understand which signaling networks and gene circuits drive spatiotemporal decision making during tissue development.


    DLN and ELIXIR also organize a session on data management and available tools at the meeting.

Druglogics receives commercialization funding from the Research Council

DLN research project DrugLogics, headed by project leader Astrid Lægreid, has been granted commercialization funding from the Research Council of Norway. The project receives 8MNOK over three years. The grant is aimed at increasing the commercial utilization and value creation within publicly financed research in Norway.

Innovation support to BEDPAN project

BEDPAN-project's Dirk Linke just received support from the UiO:Life Science initiative to continue the project's international innovation collaboration. Read more about Linke's path to meet some of these collaborators in the article above.

When environmental toxicology meets design

«I do have a lot to say about my science, but I miss the tools to communicate it to a larger audience.» Libe Aranguren Abadía, from the dCod project, used an artistic approach and collaborated with design students to be able to explain her research better. Read about her expierence in this blog post.

dCod to host toxicology conference

"Ocean Health in the Anthropocene" is the title of the 2020 edition of the Norwegian Environmental Toxicology Symposium. DLN research project dCod is in charge of organizing the event that will take place in Bergen April 22-24. More details about the conference will be available when conference web site is launched shortly.

Launch of industry internships

We are happy to announce that The Centre for Digital Life Industry Internship program is underway at last. Ph.D. candidates affiliated with a DLN research project get the opportunity to gain work experience in a company for three months. All the eligible candidates have been informed. We have already received several applications and are looking forward to still more :)

Health innovation and entrepeneurship

Ph.D. students and postdocs can now learn how to turn research results and ideas into business ventures, and how to create innovative services in a clinical setting.
Members of the research school can attend this course for free if they apply for travel grant in advance.

Apply for grants to organize a symposia

The Novo Nordisk Foundation calls for applicants to organize the Novo Nordisk Foundation Symposia.  For each symposium up to 150,000 DKK can be applied for.

Deadline is March 19. Read more.

Scientific photo competition for the Annual Report

We are announcing a photo competition to select the best scientific photo to cover our annual report for 2019!

Many of you have plenty of photos from your research. We are certain several of these have aesthetic qualities to others as well and we would like to see them.

Upload your favorite scientific picture by January 27 via this link. 
The best picture is chosen by a jury and is awarded a universal gift card worth 1000 NOK, as well as the honor of decorating the cover of the Centre for Digital Life Annual Report 2020. See the link for more details.

Sandwich course - Experimental techniques in drug discovery

The Digital Life Norway Sandwich Course taught interdisciplinary techniques within drug discovery. The course brought together an interdisciplinary group of research school members for a week of lectures, lab and group work. Read more on the blog.
