Interim Directors Message
by: Dr. Dianna Wright
Paul’s letter to the Ephesians reminds us that we, The Presbyterian Church, (U.S.A.), are but one part of the body of Christ. “But speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by every ligament with which it is equipped, as each part is working properly, promotes the body’s growth in building itself up in love” (Ephesians 4: 15–16). It’s parts, by whatever name—Presbyterian, Lutheran, Methodist, Moravian, Baptist, Episcopal, Pentecostal, or no name at all—make up one big family of God, called to work together for the common good of all people. In some cases, we have agreements on ecclesial identity and ordered ministries. In others, we relate without formal ties. But whatever case, it is very important that we move beyond our written covenants about working together to active participation in God’s work for the kin-dom. Just imagine the impact we can have on all the troubles of the world if together we do what we can to build up the body in Christ. Read more...
