Potluck Success by C.B Iskit

“That was more food than we have ever had at any potluck!” commented Jesus Fontez.

“Yes! That was one delicious feast. It was like the best of everyone’s Thanksgiving specials,” echoed Frank Castle.

Thanks to Carol Bennett’s recruitment and planning, it was the smoothest one yet. Bellies were full and fellowship was had. Jason Hubbert’s homemade cornhole set got in the action, and predictably, Nathan Vigil and Cici Wilson were the last winners standing. The duo has not lost all year.

Big thanks to the excellent clean-up and setup teams. It was like a good holiday meal. Tables were full, seconds, even thirds were had, then dessert was more than we should have eaten, but we did justice to it as well. Psalm 23 is a great passage for RCA…”He prepares a table…” That table was full and abundant. Next month we’ll have another wonderful potluck. They are gaining momentum. It is the perfect way to invite an acquaintance or someone new. Next month plan on staying a little longer and sharing a meal with some new friends.

Sizzling Justin Santos by Frank Castle

Saturday night set a record for fellowship time after the 6-7pm service. Thanks to master chief Justin Santos and his killer street tacos with all the fixens, we were eating like champions. The delectable scent of the food crept into the sanctuary towards the end of the powerful service. As worshipers exited the service into the courtyard, they were served a hot-to-order taco plate. “Sunday has the monthly potluck, but I wanted to give the Saturday nighters something special too,” explained Justin. Boy, did he deliver. Not a slice of carne asada or tortilla was left!

Upcoming Mount Prayer by Rev. Drew Brattrud

We will seek the heart of God on January 31st in the beautiful San Bernardino mountains, where RCA will have an all-church retreat. Rev. Mark Brattrud will teach in the cave chapel a message on the “Cave of Adullum and David’s mighty men.” Friday night and Saturday morning will be times of refreshing, inspiration and application. As a church we will break into ministry teams and go over each ministry’s manual page for revisions and to set new goals. Everything from the youth group, kids, worship, evangelism, follow-up and more will be discussed and prayed over.

The cost is $30 per person. We have reserved two dorms, one for the fellows and one for the ladies, 20 spots in each. Space is limited. Scholarships are available. It will be a one night, one morning time to seek God. Pray. Pray God moves among his church. Pray for renewed vision. Pray for helpful hands and humble hearts. We have the seeds of revival. Be the soil. 2020 will see God do great and mighty things at RCA.

Christmas Season

From one candle to the illumination of the entire sanctuary is a beautiful lighting and a sight to behold. Come and join us this Christmas Eve. It’s a warm, nostalgic and wholesome time. We will sing the classic Christmas songs, kids will perform and a message will stir hearts. It’s a one-hour service that has become a tradition.

If you love fun, you will absolutely love the December 20th Christmas party. Plus, you do not have to worry about what to wear--come in your pajamas! There will be an enormous white elephant exchange, so bring a gift. And bring your favorite dessert to share. Last year Sarah Galindo brought such joy to us all as she hosted it and this year looks to be another blast. It will be a pajama-white-elephant extravaganza!

Picture of the Week
Life of a Salesmen
From neighborhood knucklehead to on-fire-for-Jesus, Jerry is dominating the youth camp ticket sales. Just months ago, he had to be closely supervised upon entering the Wednesday night gate. Now he walks around with over $100 of the church’s money in his pocket. Selling 26 tickets and counting, Jerry is looking to win the prize that youth leader Nathan Vigil has put on the line. It is the coveted “Monster backpack.” The boys’ top seller will receive it. The girls’ top seller will earn a Starbucks Tumbler, complements of youth leader Bethany Castillo.
Jerry has already merited one Monster bag. Why does he want another one? He is proud to win and to help other youth go to camp. This is awesome! Jerry’s aggressive salesmanship and his bright smile wins hearts. The tickets are for the December 14th Taco Dinner. It is one of the funniest events of the year. There are tons of door prizes, raffles and delicious food. Right now, the tickets are only $5--they will be $6 at the door.
The dinner is the brainchild of Sandy Foster, and has set the record for RCA fundraising each of the three times she has hosted. There will be delicious desserts and it is a lively event.

Jesus Never Fails by C.S Anderson

Jesus said He would not forsake us
We know for sure tha's true
So if you think he would fail
You'd better think that through
He suffered on the cross for us
and a great many lashes too
He bore His own cross to Calvary,
So to fail us, He would not do.
