This Week In Doodle Art:
Dancing Ankle Bells

Kids like to make projects that are kinetic and that they can play with, so I did some research and discovered that cultures all over the world wear ankle bells while dancing!

The Morris Dance, an English folk dance

We watched Nina Davuluri, the first Indian American winner of the Miss America contest, perform a fusion of Bollywood and Indian classical dance.

We also saw a Zaouli dance from the Ivory coast and a Native American and First Nation Jingle Dress dance.

The Project:
Each child was given burlap ribbon, velcro, a narrow ribbon, bells, and a large eye, blunt needle. If your kiddo didn't know how to sew before today, he/she does now!

Sunny & Stormy Thometz wish you Happy Holidays!
