In this anniversary year, the series will return to where it began in 1995 with a special focus on World War II.

Community Spotlight
The Noshery is a beloved neighborhood café serving locally sourced coffee, fresh-baked pastries and egg sammies — plus lunch bites and salads galore. The place is usually packed with Regis students and faculty, as well as friendly neighbors who park their dogs and strollers at the curb. The welcoming staff offers ready smiles, quick service and excellent food.

Andrea Knight opened the café in spring 2014. Everything that comes out of the kitchen is made in-house from scratch every day. “It’s not easy, but we take a lot of pride in doing it," says Justa Ward, head baker and general manager.

Ward met her husband, head chef Mike Alvarez, while working at the Noshery — and they now live in the growing, bustling Regis neighborhood. Taking the time to get to know their customers has become important for them, and for their fellow staff members. "We want to know who we’re serving," Ward says.

Within the café is a small retail section with bracelets, homemade pickles and fresh jams — all of which are made by neighborhood residents. Serving only breakfast and lunch, The Noshery opens its doors to groups for evening-time private parties. It can also cater breakfast and lunch, bake custom wedding and birthday cakes, and offer bread and baked goods to other food establishments.

The Noshery
4994 Lowell Blvd.
Open 6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
