“Archaeology in North Dakota” Presentation at Former Governors' Mansion State Historic Site


BISMARCK, N.D. – Join us on Thursday, Jan. 9, at 7 p.m. as Amy Bleier presents “Archaeology in North Dakota” at the Former Governors’ Mansion State Historic Site in Bismarck.

In this free program, Bleier, an archaeologist with the State Historical Society of North Dakota, will discuss the practice of archaeology in North Dakota and why it is relevant today. The discussion will include a PowerPoint presentation and hands-on artifacts for the audience to examine.

The Former Governors’ Mansion, located at the corner of Fourth Street and Avenue B in Bismarck, is a state historic site managed by the State Historical Society of North Dakota. Admission is free. The site is open year-round. Winter hours, now in place through May 15, are the second combined Friday and Saturday of each month from 1 to 5 p.m. Groups are welcome to schedule visits outside of regular open hours by calling 701.328.9528 or email jcampbell@nd.gov.
