The Runners taking part in the 2019 Candy Cane Course will descend on the town Saturday night! The race course takes them south of the YMCA along Swift, down by Hawg Jaw and Big Rip, and back up again to Armour. Lots of festively decked costumes to check out running down our city streets!
Lucky for them, there's a couple dozen local establishments within walking distance of the finish line, including Northtown's brand new outdoor food court Iron District (with Cuban sandwiches, vegan nachos and a tiki bar 🧉), plus enjoy the neighborhood's multiple breweries, our hometown Irish whiskey distillery and tasting room, our local record store, Chef Tito's Latin fusion restaurant, Kansas City's top bicycle bar (hosting their annual chili cook-off), and a Christmas-themed pop-up bar above Screenland Theater slinging yuletide cocktails!

Saturday night is the video release party for Una Walkenhorst at The RINO music venue (feat. Bret Windler and Sex Ed), Repeal 18th at OSP Pizza hosts Nashville singer-songwriter David Luther, live blues from Bandana Band will fill Christine's hoppin' little Firehouse bar on Swift.
And at 9:30 Christmas creature feature "Gremlins" is playing at Screenland Armour along with current run films Frozen 2, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, and Knives Out!
 
Earlier on Saturday, you can check out the holiday makers' markets going on at Driftwood Ceramics until 5pm, and over at Big Rip Brewing Co. until 6pm.
During the mid-day hour, Iron District will also be hosting their food drive for Feed Northland Kids. The outdoor food court will be open 10AM-4PM with all food vendors serving, plus cocktails from Tiki Huna! Details on food items needed are right here!
Lastly, the Parks & Recreation Department is once again hosting their annual Winter Wonderland family event on Saturday at the Parks & Rec facility in Macken Park. Details on this event, including visits from Santa, Ana and Elsa, below (please RSVP through their registration system linked to on the FB event):
