ALL ARE INVITED! Advent Discipleship Opportunity:  The book Celebrating Abundance: Devotions for Advent, by Walter Brueggemann, will be available for anyone who would like a daily devotional to use during Advent. Each week during our Sunday School hour we will gather to share and discuss what struck us from the previous week’s readings. Come if you’ve read none, one, seven, or anything in-between as we talk about our experience and celebration of abundance! All are invited and encouraged to participate!
Advent Vespers:  All are invited to a new worship service each Sunday evening during Advent. We will gather at 5:30 pm in the Sanctuary for a brief (30 minute) service of meditative singing, scriptures, silence, and prayer. In the midst of all of the festivities and stress at this time of year, we hope this service will provide a time, place, and sacred space to breathe. Come and experience the presence of God in stillness.
Holiday Lights Parade:  Help us greet our neighbors in Los Alamos at the Holiday Lights Parade Today, Saturday December 7th, by serving complementary hot chocolate, tea, cider and coffee at our WRPC booth.  Meet at WRPC at 3 PM, or at the booth about 5 PM.
 
Blue Christmas: Please join us for our Blue Christmas service on Sunday, December 22 at 3:00 pm. This will be a sacred space created within a worship service, for anyone living through a dark time (grief, depression, anxiety, illness, uncertainty, etc.) in this season of supposed joy and light. It will be a reflective service, offering acceptance for wherever people really are, focusing on the comfort and companionship God offers, and holding out the invitation of healing, hope, and transformation through God’s unconditional love.
 
 
Christmas Eve:  Please join us for our Christmas Eve service on Tuesday, December 24 at 7:00 pm. We will have a time of fellowship after the service. Feel free to bring desserts or snacks to share.
 
 
Christmas Joy Offering: This offering contributes to the Assistance Program of the Presbyterian Board of Pensions, schools and colleges equipping communities of color and leadership development for people of color. Look for more information and offering envelopes in the bulletin insert and the pews.
 
 
Winter Coats for Refugees:

 Interfaith Los Alamos collected more than 75 coats! Thank you to everyone for your contributions!

Office Hours This Week: The church office hours will be 10:00 am – 2:00 pm on Mon-Wed this week . Offices will be closed Thurs-Fri for Thanksgiving . Normal hours resume next week.

Coffee from Café Justo: NEW SIZE! Just in time for the holidays, 4oz gift size bags. $4 each or three bags for $10. We still have 1lb bags for $13 in the hallway. Please pray for Café Justo growers Ignacio Tirzo and Andreas Velazquez and for the work of Frontera de Cristo, the Presbyterian Border Ministry that supports Café Justo.

Prayer Cards:  Prayer cards are in the chair pockets. Please drop your requests in the offering plate - they will be delivered to the Prayer Team; or send to Prayer@wrpchurch.com.
Praying for neighbors in White Rock:  Pastor Deb invites anyone to join her in a prayer walk each Wednesday morning at 8:00 a.m. We meet at WRPC and go as the Spirit leads.
2019 Navajo Work Weekend
Thank you all for supporting the recent trip to House of Fellowship to work, worship and fellowship  with our Navajo partners at Bread Springs NM. Together with our Navajo partners we  hosted a capacity-crowd for a sewing workshop, where participants made aprons and pillows.  We finished the walkway to the outhouses and painted a new sign for the church. We delivered loads of fire wood, fresh fruits and vegetables and hygiene supplies to neighbors. We shared meals, jokes, stories and prayers. It was a good weekend.
“Office Hours”:  Pastor Deb will have office hours this week on Tuesday mornings, from 7:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the Pig + Fig for anyone who would like to chat. Coffee and pastries are her treat! She is also available to meet with you, Tuesday-Friday. Call 695-6423 or email (pastor@wrpchurch.com) for an appointment.
Coffee Fellowship: Please remember to sign up to help with refreshments for Coffee Fellowship.
 
“Journeys in Faith”:  Our WRPC Science and Faith Dialogue meets on Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. at the Reinovskys’. We are studying Alister McGrath’s book “The Great Mystery:  Science God and the Human Quest for Meaning.” Contact Selma or Bob Reinovsky for information.

AED Available:  
We have recently installed an Automated External Defibrillator near the kitchen entrance. An AED is a rescue device to aid in a cardiac emergency. 
Invitation to Serve in Worship Leadership:
  The Worship Ministry Team is always happy to offer an opportunity for members and friends to participate in worship leadership, such as by filling the Liturgist role. Contact Joyce, Selma or Bob if you would like to share your gift of leadership.
First Sunday/Food Sunday for LA Cares 
Please bring food and other donations for LA Cares on the first Sunday of every month. Thank you for helping neighbors in need!
