Message from the Board

Hello Timberline Families!

With the holidays upon us, many of you are surely busy shopping and enjoying the holiday festivities. Please consider these easy and important ways to help support your TMS PTSA this season.
  • Doing your holiday shopping online this year? Don't forget to use Amazon Smile and dedicate your charity to the Timberline PTSA.
  • Planning a festive holiday party? Just mention Timberline PTSA at Everything Party to help our PTSA raise funds.
  • Looking for last minute unique gifts? Check out the unique arts and crafts at the annual RHS Holiday Bazaar this coming Saturday at Redmond High School.
  • Enjoying the winter ice skating rink in Bellevue? Don't forget to mention Timberline Middle School PTSA when purchasing tickets so the rink can donate a portion of your admission fee to TMS!
We wanted to send a special thank you to our parent volunteers at Friday's first Dance! It was a wonderful event for our students. They had a great time dancing, playing games and bouncing with their friends. What a fun way to kick off the holiday season.

If you are interested in getting more involved at Timberline, please consider attending our monthly meetings to have your voice heard and see how you can get involved!

Thank you for all you do,
Your TMS PTSA Board

News and Announcements

Holiday Gift Card Drive

The TMS gift card drive has officially started: As we approach the most meaningful time of the year when we celebrate the Holidays with friends and families, please keep in mind that many of our students enter the winter break with the stress of not being provided with a hot lunch or breakfast at school. They don’t have the joy of getting a present or something new from their parents.

Please consider donating a gift card to a local grocery store in small denominations so everybody has a reason to smile and start the year 2020 with warmth in their hearts …and tummies.

A basket will be placed in the main office on the drop-off cabinet, please teach your kids the lesson of giving by sending them with a gift card for a family in need.

Shopping and Helping the PTSA

Do you still need to finish your shopping for the holidays? What about decorations for your New Year's party? Timberline PTSA is setup with both Everything Party and Amazon Smile so you can shop and support your PTSA at the same time.

Every time you shop at Everything Party, simply mention to the cashier BEFORE the transaction begins, “please ring this up for Timberline Middle” and then Everything Party will donate 10% of your purchase back to the Timberline Middle PTSA.

For Amazon Smile, go to https://smile.amazon.com/ch/84-1775310 from a computer. Once logged in, this should select "Timberline Middle PTSA 2 8 82" as your supported charity. Then SHOP AWAY!
**A tip for those of you that have already selected us as your charity and like to use the app on your phone to shop - you can add items to the cart in the app and then just go to the computer to check out. All the items you put in your cart in the app will in your cart on the computer as long as they are both logged in with the same account.

Volunteer

Thank You Dance Volunteers!!!

Our first ever Timberline dance was a huge success. The kids had a great time, and it looked like the parents and teachers did too! We are so appreciative of all the people who volunteered their time to make this happen. Parents came in during lunches this week to assist with ticket sales in the office and more than twenty attended the dance to help keep our students safe and ensure everything ran smoothly. Our TMS volunteer ROCK! Thank you!!!

Traffic Safety Team!

We are listening to your concerns and working together with the Timberline administration as we work toward solutions to your concerns. We are excited to announce a new Traffic Safety Team and we'd love to have you be a part of it! Many of you have voiced your concerns regarding the driving safety around Timberline, please consider being a part of the solution and becoming a member of our Traffic Safety Team. We are looking to form this team of volunteer parents and have you trained and ready for action in January. Please click here to sign up - https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050845A5AD2AA4F58-traffic

Updates from the School

Tardy Policy

As students navigate their 6 period day, they have 5 minute passing periods to get to their next class. Knowing that staff work hard to support the instructional needs of students during each class period, it is important that students arrive to each class period on time. More recently, the school has noticed students arriving 1-5 minutes late to class. Although this may not seem like a significant amount of time, it is impactful on instruction. In addition, it draws safety concerns if students are not in class at designated times.

Students who arrive late to class will be required to go to the main office for a tardy slip. Students who generate excessive tardies will be required to meet with administrators and families will be notified. In reoccurring scenarios, students will be assigned community service. Please connect with your child and remind them of the importance of getting to each class on time.
