NEWSLETTER #113
Greetings all!
So here's a quick update on how the digital single "Deconstruct Divide & Rule" is progressing. We are very pleased to say that we have surpassed the £200 mark funds that will go to the very worthy cause "Crisis at Christmas" charity. Plus we have had over 500 views of the accompanying video on YouTube!
And so a big big thanks to everyone who has donated so far. We are continuing with the release campaign for a couple more weeks, so we can get these funds to the charity. It costs Crisis UK £28.87 per guest, so with that in mind you have invited almost 7 homeless folks along at Christmas to the event!
I wanted to just to outline exactly what happens at these city events, having volunteered a few years ago, at the Crisis at Christmas event held at the old Olympia Centre in London. A lot of folks say, well this is just a one day event. But in actual fact the event runs for a week, and it's not just about giving folks a slap up meal for the day, but offers a whole load of services that include, healthcare and mental healthcare (doctors, nurses, opticians and counsellors on site), hairdressers, clothes banks, educational services like IT skills, and welfare advice services etc. It is in effect a massive one stop shop.
Personally I found volunteering very rewarding, but also somewhat disturbing. I was at that time busking a lot in London, so was quite connected with the homeless situation. Of course this was a fair few years ago (over 15 years), and the homeless numbers have increased exponentially in the last 10 years.
So if you haven't purchased the digital single of "Deconstruct Divide & Rule" please click the poster below. It's just 99p (more if you're flush) or if you simply do not like the track (!) just go straight to the Crisis website and donate there. Please check out the Crisis at Christmas website https://www.crisis.org.uk/
Please also check out the video on YouTube :) https://youtu.be/azfgwURaF-o
Thank you all for your support in 2019.
And see you next year...with a new album!
