Farewell Fall, Hello Holidays Dinner Dance
The Farewell Fall, Hello Holidays event was held on Thursday, November 14 at the Old Winery. The event was co-chaired by Cindy Durdan and Judy Huntington-Mackay, and was attended by 105 guests of The Village.
A festive atmosphere was created with tables beautifully decorated with lanterns and glitter painted white gourds surrounded by evergreen and ivy.
Guests were greeted with a complimentary festive cocktail, followed by a delicious five-course meal. Turntable Rock, a three-piece band, got the party hopping with golden oldies that had everyone singing, swinging, and reminiscing.
Door Prize Winners included Keith Bertram, Harry Geisbrecht, Mike Siverns, Mark Brown, Robin Fraser, Donna Bertram, Deb Keyes, Theresa Lasiuk, Richelle Lantin, Ron Zimmerman, Carol Zimmerman, Bob Hiscott, Sharon Hunter, Warren Fraser, and Rob Williams Door prizes included ten bottles of local wine, e-scooter rides for two and a jet boat ride for four. A spot dance was awarded to two lucky couples (Karen & Bob Hiscott and Suzy & Paul Cranley) who each received a bottle of ice wine. All prizes were donated by the Social Committee and community residents.
See all the prize winners and more photos of the evening on the VCA website Gallery.
The evening was a huge success and kicked off the holiday season. Residents have been chatting about the fun they had throughout the village and beyond. The Village is a great place to live, where we can meet neighbours, make new friends and enjoy socializing together.

Lumiere Stroll - Monday, December 23
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the Lumiere Stroll which takes place on Monday, December 23 (weather permitting).
Sidewalks in the four Village parks will be illuminated with glowing candles throughout.
No set start time, just enjoy a walk anytime after dark with friends, neighbours and relatives to share some holiday cheer.

Residents are cautioned to be aware of the 75-odd extension cords connecting the trees and lampposts in the various parks.
These may be a hazard when hidden in the dark and especially if it snows.

If you see a tree or other decoration "gone dark" and it was lit by the VCA team previously please let Dale know - it might just need plugging in again. Contact Dale - vcadecorteam@gmail.com
