The VCA Social Committee was busy in November!

If you missed out here’s the rundown on the Hello Holidays Dinner Dance and the Christmas Tree lighting.

The evening was a huge success and kicked off the holiday season. Residents have been chatting about the fun they had throughout the village and beyond.  The Village is a great place to live, where we can meet neighbours, make new friends and enjoy socializing together.

The Village is Lit!

The annual Village Holiday Lighting ceremony took place at 5:30pm on Sunday, November 14 in Dietsch Park.  Dale DesIslets welcomed a record number of residents, thanked his team of over 30 neighbourhood volunteers, and gave the cue to turn on the lights throughout The Village. The magic of the holiday season came alive!

Residents then proceeded to the park at Jordan and Norton and enjoyed cookies, hot apple cider and entertainment  by the Evergreen Singers. The social committee greatly appreciated the efforts and culinary talents of the 20 volunteers who baked cookies for this event. The Evergreen singers delighted the crowd with their Christmas favourites and truly created a festive holiday atmosphere.

Lumiere Stroll - Monday, December 23

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the Lumiere Stroll which takes place on Monday, December 23 (weather permitting).
Sidewalks in the four Village parks will be illuminated with glowing candles throughout.
No set start time, just enjoy a walk anytime after dark with friends, neighbours and relatives to share some holiday cheer.

Lumieres
tripResidents are cautioned to be aware of the 75-odd extension cords connecting the trees and lampposts in the various parks.
These may be a hazard when hidden in the dark and especially if it snows.
If you see a tree or other decoration "gone dark" and it was lit by the VCA team previously please let Dale know - it might just need plugging in again.  Contact Dale - vcadecorteam@gmail.com
