FINAL REMINDER – NPW CONFERENCE 2020

Our next annual Conference is to be held at the Jurys Inn, Cardiff on Tuesday 11th February 2020 is fast approaching. Keynote speeches will be made by South Wales Police, J D Wetherspoon Pub Company and Wise Minds.  Three breakout sessions will be held – a practical initiative to deal with Knife Crime, the SIA and the use of Community Protection Warnings/Notices for persistent Pubwatch ban breaches.

NATIONAL PUBWATCH STAR AWARD FOR BEDFORDSHIRE POLICE OFFICER

A Bedfordshire Police officer has been awarded the first National Pubwatch (NPW) ‘Star Award’ in the county.  Thanks to a project conceived by PC Rob Sparkes; offenders who have assaulted or abused people working in the night time economy, such as taxi Marshall’s and door staff working in take-aways, now face the prospect of being banned by the licensee run Bedsafe scheme…(read more here)

NOTTINGHAM CITY PUBWATCH MEMBER PRESENTED WITH ‘JEREMY ALLEN’ AWARD

HUNDREDS OF FAKE IDs HANDED TO POLICE IN MIDLOTHIAN AS WARNING ISSUED TO THOSE CARRYING THEM

Staff at bars and nightclubs in Midlothian handed hundreds of fake IDs to police in the last year.  Officers are warning anyone purchasing or carrying forged driving licenses “not to waste their time”, adding that they are actually committing a criminal offence…(read more here)

LIFESAVING KITS TO BE ROLLED OUT IN KETTERING PUBWATCH PUBS AND CLUBS

Pubs, clubs and businesses across Kettering will be given specialist kits to help anyone suffering serious bleeding.  A new pilot scheme will launch next month providing venues in the town with bleed control kits after Kettering Pubwatch put up £1,500 in funding in partnership with Kettering Council…(read more here)

BEER MATS DESIGNED TO STOP DRINKS FROM BEING SPIKED BRANDED WASTE OF TIME BY FIFE LICENSEES

A Police Scotland-backed campaign which aims to stop drinks being spiked has been branded a waste of time and effort, by members of Fife’s Licensing Forum.  Police Scotland’s Fife division is supporting a new initiative by the nationwide Girls Against Spiking group which has seen thousands of specially-developed coasters distributed to every division across Scotland…(read more here)
