Brussels, December 2019
Dear Readers,

The new leaders of the European Commission has been installed. Our Fellows have the chance to witness this challenging time of power transition. We already had the chance to invite few former leaders and how insightful it is to listen to honest testimonies about past decisions and dilemmas. It is usually easier to rectify the errors of yesterday than to avoid the pitfalls of tomorrow. At the same time, we are also exposing our ELP Fellows to current leaders. It is inspiring to see the momentum and courage with which they arrive to their new posts, their new mission.
Reality is about to kick in. That is the moment we discuss with them later: how do they manage to bring their values and mission to everyday level in the political theater of Brussels? Our ELP Fellows are future leaders. This transition period is an exceptionally good time for them to see the lifespan of leaders and different perspectives on leadership. I do hope they learn from the failures of the past to lead us into a more just future.
