Dear Friend,

For 30 years, WE ACT has fought to ensure a seat at the table for Northern Manhattan residents in decisions that directly affect the health of their neighborhoods. As 2019 ends, we’re celebrating a year of major victories. Our climate and environmental health policy accomplishments in this year alone include: the Community Leadership and Climate Protection Act, the Climate Mobilization Act, the Child Safe Products Act, and the Period Products bill. The climate bills put our City and State at the forefront of efforts to transition to pollution-free energy and reach zero emissions. And our anti-toxics bills will remove dangerous chemicals from store shelves while also improving transparency about the contents of the products we buy.

None of this would have been possible without our members, allies, and donors. As we reflect on this year’s wins, please commit to empowering grassroots advocacy in the year ahead by making a gift to WE ACT today.

Next year we have a slate exciting initiatives. We’ll be working with Uptown residents, health care experts, and environmental allies, to create community-driven solutions to the threat of extreme urban heat. And we’ve already started organizing New York City Housing Authority residents to advocate for safe, healthy, secure public housing. Nationwide, we’ll also be uplifting the place of environmental justice in the dialogue about climate policy, green jobs, and protection from toxic exposures.

Community engagement and organizing is intensive work, and we need your support to keep up the fight in 2020, a decisive year for our movement.

You already know why this work is important, which is why you have become a WE ACT ally. Show your support again this year with a donation of $50 or more.
