Covenant Renewal
Founded in 1819 by the Rev. Isaac Anderson, Maryville College has been in relationship with the Presbyterian Church for 200 years. In celebration of the Bicentennial and the ongoing relationship with the Presbyterian Church (USA), the Synod of Living Waters and the Presbytery of East Tennessee, the renewal of the voluntary covenant with the Presbytery was a highlight of the recent Presbytery meeting held at MC last month. The purpose of the covenant is to give framework to the shared mission of the Church and the College: “to do good on the largest possible scale” in the lives of students, the Church and the world.
