For All Applicants:
CalGrant Extension:
If you received a Cal Grant A or B award within 15 months of Fall quarter enrollment to the Teacher Education Program, you are eligible to apply for an additional year of Cal Grant eligibility. Covers Fall/Winter/Spring tuition.
How to Apply:
Submit the G-44 form directly to the California Student Aid Commission.
TEACH Grant:
Receive up to $4,000 in federal grant aid. To be eligible, you must commit to teach in a high-need field and a low-income area upon completing your credential.
How to Apply:
Meet the eligibility requirements and sign the TEACH Grant Agreement to Serve.
Program Block Grants:
Block grants are need-based and typically range from $1,500-$6,000. Block grants are administered by the Teacher Education Program.
How to Apply:
Complete the Financial Aid Statement in the “Personal Achievements/Contributions” section of the eApp.
Privately Funded Scholarships:
Generous donors provide support for Teacher Education Program students through a variety of privately funded scholarships. Scholarships vary in amount from $500-$5,000.
How to Apply:
An application will be sent to all TEP students at the beginning of Fall quarter.
Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan:
A federal loan of up to $20,500 to cover any educational costs. Administered by the UCSB Financial Aid Office.
How to Apply:
Complete the FAFSA.
Graduate Plus Loan:
A federal loan to cover any educational costs (no limit). Administered by the UCSB Financial Aid Office.
How to Apply:
Complete the FAFSA.
