THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!

Many thanks to you for joining the Lower Raritan Watershed Partnership, Central Jersey Stream Team and more than 70 volunteers who spent a cold Saturday in stewardship for the Green Brook and Lower Raritan Watershed!

Special thanks to Green Brook Borough Council, Green Brook Boy Scouts pack 129, 747 Robotics, Kean University Be The Change, Highland Park High School Environmental Health & Service Club, reps from Ridge & Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited, and Hackensack Riverkeeper. Thanks also to Green Brook Regional Center for bringing out a dumpster, accommodating our group on their property, and for coffee and the munchkin treats.

The trash tally:

17 tires (including one monster heavy equipment tire, see photo)
75+ bags of trash
50+ bags of recyclables
2 mini fridges
1 recliner
1 plastic table
1 utility sink
1 metal door
1 car bumper
several plastic and metal chairs
various waterlogged cushions
plastic buckets, crates and containers, hoses and pipes, lumber, kids toys, hundreds of styrofoam pieces, and lots of other junk.

Our clean-up schedule for 2020 is in the works. In the meantime please join us Friday December 13, 6-9 pm at the Milltown Senior Center as we celebrate our successes and look to the future for the watershed! For more details and to RSVP.

See you in the watershed!
