In to the Next Decade
The future of food and farming has arrived. We are at a critical point in time: needing to produce more food than ever, while our current food systems are having severe impacts on land, water and biodiversity. Looking to the next decade we are equipped with knowledge and tools that can revolutionize our food systems to ensure they are safe, sustainable and trusted by all. Now its a matter of working together to turn our know-how into action.
In this letter we highlight what researchers at the University of Guelph are working on to prepare us for the next decade of food and farming.
We start by sharing a glimpse of the diverse work happening to keep our soils healthy, then we showcase the novel work done by researchers to give coffee waste a new life in the automative industry, and lastly we spotlight what we are reading, who we are following, and one of our outstanding scholars.
