December 10, 2019

Dear IHS '64 Classmates,

"The" season is upon us.  We hope that as we go through the holidays that we all share the comfort, joy  and peace with those we love.  Many of our classmates have experienced additional family and friend  losses during this past year that makes for sad times, but know that there is love and support from those around you including your "64" classmates.  One to experience a recent loss is Jackie Elliser McLachian whose mother passed away a few weeks ago.  For classmates who still have living parents, cherish the moments as you are in the minority of those our age.  For all who have losses, know that prayers and thoughts are with you --- this is definitely the downside of growing old(er).

While "the" season is referencing the holidays, many sports fans probably thought of a different season -- the concluding weeks of football.  And if you are not in Baton Rouge and experiencing it, BR is "alive" with  Jeaux Burreaux (Joe Burrow of LSU fame) and LSU  fever as it seems that EVERYONE has identified with this young man -- the underdog -- who has worked hard -- and the hard work seems to be paying off for him as well as all the Tigers.  This might be a similar story of many -- (not necessarily in the sports arena) -- who grew up in NBR in our era.  As Coach O says "Geaux Tigers" -- or maybe it is Geaux Saints -- or Geaux WHOEVER you support in your part of the country.  As Joe said in an interview, this was not luck, this was hard work.  So many of our peers can identify with that statement.

Our monthly luncheon will be this Saturday, December 14th at Drusilla Seafood at 3482 Drusilla Lane in Baton Rouge at 11:30 a.m.  A decision will be made on where to have the lunches in 2020 as there is a possibility that
Sammy's in Central will not be open??  So, if you have suggestions, bring them with you to the luncheon.  Hope to see you there.

And a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all............

Send us your data for our database

We  published a 50th Reunion Booklet that was given out to everyone at the July event and wanted to include as many listings as possible. If you weren't listed or want to change data - addresses, phone numbers, family info, and what you've been doing, please contact us.  Many of you have been contacted recently via phone or email by the Reunion Committee and we have up to date reports.  However, there area a lot of folks with old data on file, so if you haven't already done so, please send us your data using our convenient new online form or the traditional printed "snail mail" version.  We would hope that most folks will use the online form since it reduces the amount of typing the committee volunteers have to do!

See the section above for several ways to send us your data.

Missing Indians

We've maintained and updated the old classmates list from our 50th reunion and will use it and recent information to keep our database current. A list of "Missing Indians" has been posted and will be updated each week as we find people and move them to the "found" list. Please help us find the missing classmates and faculty members.

Send photos and news

In case you haven't visited our Gallery Pages, there are many photos there that classmates have scanned and emailed to us for everyone to see.  Send us your photos along with captions.  Scan at 300 dpi or less to keep the size down.  Send to ihs1964@yahoo.com  .

Everyone likes to read news about their friends from school, especially if they are out of touch or far away. So, send us news to include on our website.  Just email to ihs1964@yahoo.com .
