NIHR Clinical Research Network KSS - exciting new Early Career in Research Investment programmes
Following last year's successful Green Shoots Programme, in collaboration with the RDS SE, 70@70 nurses and the new NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC), NIHR CRN KSS announce four support initiatives for up and coming researchers in the region.
- Seedlings programme: led by KSS 70@70 nurses - expressions of interest close on 17 January
- Research Ready programme: led by Professor Rajkumar
- Greenshoots/Team Shoots: led by ARC KSS - closing date for submissions 14 February
- Bid Rehabilitation Programme: led by Dr Egan, NIHR RDS SE

NEW! RDS SE Fellowships event
3 June 2020, venue tbc
This NIHR Fellowships event will be open to anyone across Kent, Surrey and Sussex who is considering applying for one of the NIHR fellowships. The aim of the day is to raise awareness and understanding of the various NIHR Fellowship opportunities amongst clinicians, practitioners and researchers and there will be guest speakers including NIHR Fellows and panel members. The venue will be confirmed asap, but will most likely be in Brighton.

RDS SE Research Journey Lunchtime Seminar, Brighton
12.30 - 2.30pm 17 June 2020, University of Brighton, Falmer
Professor Catherine Evans, Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust and King's College London, and Professor Kathy Greenwood, Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and University of Sussex, will talk about their own journeys in balancing clinical work with successful research.

Applied Research Collaboration Kent, Surrey and Sussex (ARC KSS) - call for Public Advisers
ARC KSS are seeking to recruit three members of the public who have a keen interest in health and social care related research to the ARC KSS Board. They appreciate diverse representation and encourage applicants from BAME communities, under 25's, carers, LGBTQ+, people with a disability.

This award offers funding for clinical trainees to undertake a research project after PhD. Applications are considered from any area of CRUK’s funding remit, with the exception of clinical trials and drug discovery.

NHS R&D Forum: Local Capacity and Capability for Research

A one-day course designed to provide an understanding of the requirements of an NHS organisation when determining whether to take part in a particular research study. It explains the principles of good study set up, introduces delegates to various systems associated with research and provides guidance on developing relationships with key support departments and stakeholders within an NHS organisation.
